In her undergraduate studies at Duke University, Katy
sensed a calling towards a helping profession. She has
always loved hearing people’s stories and helping them
process struggles they may be experiencing. Her desire
to empower others led her to The University of
Tennessee in Knoxville where she obtained her Masters
of Social Work. Katy is passionate about empowering
every person to overcome struggles and barriers in their
life so they can love themselves and others well. She
integrates various counseling theories, which allows her
to tailor each session to the client’s individual needs.

Through her own experience in counseling and in
counseling others, Katy believes every difficulty provides
an opportunity for growth and restoration. She loves
walking alongside people in their struggles and equipping
them to move towards freedom. Believing that authenticity
and awareness are the keys to change, she seeks to
provide a safe space for people to be real and “take off
their masks.”

Katy works with women in all stages of life, including
adults and adolescents. Her areas of focus include
anxiety, depression, body image, eating disorders,
spirituality, life transitions, and career exploration.

Although she was born and raised in Virginia, Katy has
fallen in love with Knoxville. She loves working out at the
YMCA and believes health and wellness are critical to
emotional healing. She and her husband Casey love
trying new restaurants, traveling, and cheering on the
Vols. Katy would be honored to work with you.
