Haley Cottrell completed her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology with a focus on Psychology at the University of Tennessee. After being a stay-at-home mom and working in her children’s schools for several years, Haley felt led to pursue her master’s degree in counseling and return to the field she is passionate about.
As a Christian counselor, Haley values and respects cultural differences and respects all people who come with various backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs. She believes in a holistic approach to counseling focusing on the whole person: mind, body and spiritual growth. Her passion is working with children, adolescents, families and individuals using a collaborative approach while providing a safe place for clients to explore, heal and grow. Haley has a particular interest in child-centered play therapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) but also approaches counseling in a multifaceted manner, tailored to meet the individual needs of the client. Haley considers it a privilege to join clients on their journey towards healing and finding balance in their lives.
Haley was born in Mobile, Alabama but has lived in Knoxville for many years and is proud to call East Tennessee home. When she isn’t working or studying, Haley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, running, yoga, paddle boarding and pottery.
