Rachel Blackaby is a Licensed Masters Level Social Worker under supervision. Her passion is working with women, young adults and adolescents as they walk through the complexities of life. Rachel has a particular interest in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Pragmatic Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative therapy, and the Enneagram.
Before pursuing her counseling credentials, Rachel worked professionally at several community mental health practices across Tennessee. After realizing her need for additional training, Rachel attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she graduated with a Master of clinical social work. She previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in child and family studies from the University of Tennessee.
As a Christian counselor, Rachel readily acknowledges and values cultural differences and respects all people who come with different backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs. She believes in an integrated approach to counseling that helps to combine a person’s emotional, relational, physical and spiritual self to bring forth transformation. Rachel is honored to have the opportunity to walk with her clients as she gets the privilege to hear their story and step into it for a season.
Rachel grew up doing missions in Alberta Canada. Her background in missions and working with diverse groups has enriched her life and her ability to connect with others. When she isn’t working, Rachel enjoys family, good friends, reading, baking, yoga, and anything that involves an adventure.
